Description
Glendale Community College is developing new allied health career pathways to train Physical Therapy (PT) and Occupational Therapy (OT) Assistants with support from USC. Students will earn their AA degree from GCC and have an opportunity to complete their clinical fieldwork hours at a professional PT/OT clinic housed at the GCC Montrose Campus and operated by USC.
This innovative new program will eventually be located at the former Citibank building at 2350 Honolulu Avenue. During the program development and construction phase, the USC PT/OT clinic will temporarily operate from the former PDC building.
The tenant improvement project consists of moderate updates, encompassing approximately 4,500 square feet, to transform the space into a dedicated PT/OT facility. The scope includes selective demolition of interior partitions and ceilings, followed by reconfiguration of the layout to meet the functional and clinical needs of PT/OT services. Other improvements include repainting; relocation of lighting fixtures; adjustments to HVAC systems, including diffusers and registers; and minor restroom upgrades to enhance accessibility compliance.
