Description
The Auditorium has served Glendale Community College since 1946 and is cherished as one of GCC’s heritage buildings. Although the current structure is not registered with the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), efforts will be made to preserve the key architectural features, honoring the heritage of GCC and the Glendale community.
The Auditorium Replacement Project is part of the 2025-2035 Facilities Strategic Plan (FSP). The Project will efficiently design 31,322 assignable square feet building. The new construction will address seismic-related issues, improve accessibility, and provide efficient and modern spaces to enhance the student learning environment.
Updates
- The GCC Auditorium project was approved for funding by the State Chancellor’s Office on Friday, March 13, 2026.
- Scheduled to begin design in July 2026 and complete construction in 2031.
